Why it matters

Close to mandatory, in the nicest way

On a wedding day you often only get a few minutes of just the two of you and me. I don't want you awkward for those minutes. So we do the engagement session first.

The awkward part is done within the first 10 to 30 minutes. Then we get beautiful photos. And on the wedding day you already know what to expect: you're not nervous about a camera being there, and I already know what works for you two.

That's why engagement sessions are included free with every wedding package of eight hours or more. If you truly can't fit one in, I'll usually swap it for a free extra hour of wedding day coverage or rehearsal dinner coverage instead.

Locations

Your pick, anywhere in the valley

  • Red Rock Canyon
  • Valley of Fire
  • The dry lake beds
  • The Wetlands
  • Lake Las Vegas
  • The Smith Center and downtown
  • Mount Charleston, about thirty degrees cooler than the valley in summer
  • Urban and desert spots all over town

Locations an hour or more away may carry a small fee. Most of these don't.

The details

What to expect

  • Time: an hour and a half. Block at least two hours, because sessions tend to run long when we're having fun.
  • Images: roughly 60 to 90 edited photos, and that's a conservative number.
  • Outfits: your call, it's your time. My advice is exactly one change. We often don't know how a dress will photograph until we try it.
  • Weather: if the forecast is bad and both our calendars allow it, we reschedule at no charge.
  • Price on its own: $500. Free with wedding packages of eight hours or more.

Couples who aren't models

Everyday people who were sure they'd be awkward. Come awkward. I'll prove you wrong. I promise.

Visiting Las Vegas?

Fly in, get photos you'd never get at home

If you're in town for a trip, a birthday, a bachelorette, or just because, I'd love to photograph you while you're here. You don't have to be getting married in Las Vegas, and you don't even need to have picked a wedding photographer back home yet. Red Rock at golden hour, a dry lake bed with nothing around for miles, Valley of Fire, the Strip at night. Tell me your dates and I'll tell you what light we can get.
