Hi, I'm McKenzie
I'm the owner and photographer behind McKenzie Stewart Weddings, and I specialize in couples who are sure they're awkward in front of the camera. I've been photographing weddings since 2009. Las Vegas has been home since I was a baby, and I still live in the neighborhood I grew up in, so if you're getting married anywhere in the valley, there's a good chance I already know your venue.
Here's the promise the whole business is built on: when you book me, you book me. The person you meet at the consultation is me. The photographer at your wedding is me.

The story
How this started
I took a photography class at the College of Southern Nevada in 2009, the same year I got engaged. I had zero plans to start a business. I wanted to learn photography so that one day I could take beautiful pictures of my own family. My teacher took it more seriously than that. She never let us shoot in auto mode, not once, and the technical foundation she drilled into us is still under every photo I take.
Planning my own wedding is what changed my mind. I followed photographers the way other people follow celebrities, and I ended up spending over a third of everything we spent on the wedding on photography. That's how much the photos mattered to me. My brother, who has spent his career in SEO, saw how much I loved it and showed me it could be a real business. He helped me name it, and by the end of 2009 the business had a name and a website.
My husband and I spent 2011 to 2017 in Florida, where the business took off, and then came home to Las Vegas to be near family. I have photographed weddings every single year since 2010. That adds up to over 300 weddings of my own, and more than 400 counting the ones I've shot alongside other photographers.
The promise
When you book me, you book me
Las Vegas has a lot of big photography companies where you pick from staff portfolios and find out later who's actually showing up. You'll never have that question with me. You meet me, you plan with me, and I'm the one at your wedding.
If your day calls for a second photographer, you can add one. That's either an established professional I trust to shoot at my level, or my husband Ben, who has been shooting alongside me since 2009. Either way, I'm still your photographer.
My specialty
What if you're awkward in front of the camera?
Then you're my people. Almost every couple I've ever worked with started with some version of "I'm so awkward in front of the camera, you have no idea." I do have an idea. I'm awkward in front of a camera too, and I don't love having one pointed at me. That's exactly why I got so good at fixing it for everyone else.
Here's how. I use prompts, not poses. I'm not going to spend your session telling you where to put your chin. I'll give you something to do or laugh at, and the photos happen while you're busy being the two of you. Some prompts feel silly in the moment, but they're doing quiet work. A lot of my training went into that skill. I studied with some of the best photographers in the industry, with a focus on flattering women in photographs, and I've spent more than ten years teaching other photographers how to do it.
And the photos are real. I don't change your body or your face in editing. My editing fixes brightness and color so your photos look the way the moment actually looked. Every single client tells me some version of the same thing when their gallery arrives: they can't believe how good they look. That's the part I take responsibility for. You don't have to figure it out.
This is also why I love engagement sessions and include one free with wedding packages of eight hours or more. The awkwardness burns off in the first 10 to 30 minutes of the session. By your wedding day, the camera is old news.
Style
My style, in plain words
Light and airy, natural, and focused on the two of you. I want your photos to capture REAL raw moments and to look as good in 20 years as they do today. That's why I've never chased fad edits. Couples whose photographers were doing selective color and tilted angles back when I started are explaining those albums to their kids now.
I'll also be straight with you about what I'm not. If your dream photos involve heavily stylized studio lighting, I'm probably not your photographer, and I'd rather help you figure that out early. My lane is natural light, real moments, and the two of you looking like yourselves on the best day of your lives.

Every couple is welcome here
All sizes, all orientations, all cultures, all ceremony styles. Plus size brides often reach out because they finally see themselves in my portfolio, which always surprises me a little, because I post all of my beautiful brides. Every size. I love photographing LGBTQ+ couples. I've photographed weddings across many religions and cultures, including multi day celebrations where one day ends at 1:00 AM and the next starts at 5:00 AM. If you're up for it, so am I.
If you need an accommodation of any kind, just ask. In 17 years, nobody has asked for one I couldn't make work.
On purpose
How I do business
A few things I do on purpose, because I dislike pushy sales as much as you do:
- I share my pricing before we ever meet. It's $300 per hour when you book two or more hours, and prices are subject to change. I'm not trying to gatekeep.
- I won't let you sign a contract at our first meeting. Go home and think about it. If it feels right, we handle the paperwork by email.
- A $500 deposit holds your date, and the balance isn't due until a month before your wedding. I only hold dates for couples whose venue is booked, because that's what makes a date real.
- That deposit is the same price as an engagement session on its own, and that's intentional. If we do your session and you decide I'm not your person, you've risked nothing beyond what the session would have cost.
- I cap how many weddings I take each month and each year. I can't care for my couples the way I intend to if I overbook.
- Your contract allows eight weeks for your gallery, and I try my best to deliver within two.
- I've never missed a wedding in 17 years, and your day happens rain or shine. If rain shows up, I'll bring cute clear umbrellas.

The reviews mean the most to me, and one word keeps showing up in them: comfortable. Couples also keep saying the photos felt natural and that by the wedding day I felt like part of the family. One couple recently brought me back for their 10 year vow renewal. That's the whole job, right there.

Want to elope in Las Vegas instead?
This year I built something new with Michelle Brown, a licensed Nevada officiant and my friend: an all inclusive Las Vegas elopement package. One hour, starting around $2,000, everything handled. The location permit, a ceremony that sounds like you, the photography, a witness if you need one, your song on a speaker, champagne, and a legally binding marriage filed with the county. We take you to the beautiful places around the valley, like Red Rock Canyon, Valley of Fire, and the dry lake beds. Booking is open now, and the first available dates begin November 10, 2026.
